I am a Psychologist and graduated from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology followed by a Residency and Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Florida-Gainesville. After finishing my training, I was hired to run an Intensive Outpatient Program in Texas. I then served as a Captain in the U.S. Air Force stationed at Beale AFB here in Northern California where I was the Officer in Charge of Mental Health Services. After my service in the Air Force, I joined Kaiser Permanente’s Psychiatry Department for a couple of years before, in 2004, starting my Folsom practice, which serves the greater Sacramento area.
I treat many types of clients. With extensive training in grief, loss, trauma, and the often-accompanying depression and anxiety, I specialize in working with people going through difficult times in their lives to include death, illness, divorce or relationship disruptions, job loss, loss of a loved one or pet, and other life transitions. I love my work. Although I often initially see people at a low point in their life, as we work together in a deeper way over time, they often find the courage and skills to make a lasting change and live a life no longer dictated by past experiences and relationships.
